Ashton Kutcher’s love affair with romantic comedies just keeps on. To follow up his role in Valentine’s Day (and the upcoming Killers), the actor has signed on for director Ivan Reitman’s next project, currently titled Friends With Benefits — and his leading lady is Natalie Portman! The premise (at least what’s been revealed so far) is what you’d expect: how men and women who have no problems hopping into bed together can have trouble actually forming a solid relationship. It sounds like the beginnings of what could be a cute story, but I’m still skeptical. Kutcher doesn’t exactly have the best track record with films, and while Portman is undoubtedly a great actress, she’s been inconsistent as of late. The film already has a release date of Jan. 7, 2011, which means someone believes in the project. As for me, I’m hoping that Kutcher and Portman will help balance each other out. He can bring out her goofier side that we don’t see nearly enough on the big screen, and she can tone him down a little. Could be a good pairing after all — what do you think? Source: buzzsugar.com |

The tab “has learned that Natalie Portman is campaigning to play Eliza Doolittle, the role immortalized by Audrey Hepburn” in the 1964 release. According to a so-called “source,” Portman “worships Audrey,” and has observed that her lack of vocal experience shouldn’t be a problem. “Natalie can’t sing,” says the source, “But she keeps pointing out that in the original movie, Audrey was dubbed.” |

Natalie Portman is determined to see the positive side of the global economic downturn – she’s convinced the international recession will allow people to rethink their priorities. The “Star Wars” actress, who filmed a FunnyOrDie comedy sketch about the financial crisis last year (08), insists workers who are now worse off will be able to get their lives back on track and find the career they have always wanted. She says, “I think it’s kind of an exciting time. I mean, everyone is cutting back. It’s happening in every industry – including our own. All of a sudden, people are doing jobs that they hate and they’re not making as much money as they thought they would or they’ve lost their jobs entirely. I’ve started to see people looking more toward their own passions and what really excites them.” |
